Support to the Coffee and Cocoa industry: Cooperatives receive gifts

A set of agricultural equipment  composed of tricycles , motorbikes, high tech weigh scales, Wheelbarrows, moderngrinding machines, new boots, cocoa plants called ‘Mercedes’ and  phytosanitary products were given, on the 11th ,13thand 14th to the cooperatives of Niablé (Abengourou), Gohitafla (Zouénoula) and Loboville (Soubré) communities.

The donationsare made by Africa Sourcing, one the local coffee and cocoa exporter in Ivory Coast.

Adding to these donations, Africa Sourcing hasimplemented many social actionsregarding education, public health and gender promotion.Ange-Fabien GUEI, Purchasing Director at Africa Sourcing, stipulated that this effort is intended  to allow cooperatives<< to work more seriously, of course all in due respect of the cooperatives members’dignity by caring for their welfare in order to host among them farmers dedicated to the development of sustainable cocoa farming >>.

The spokesperson of the recipients, Senior Doctor of the Niablé public health center, expressed how this gesture representsa relief for the people of his community who, often, are confronted to certain situations in which sometimes they cannot afford the medical prescriptions. <<This donation comes at a right time to help the community>>, as he said. Let’s keep in mind that thisdonation activities fall into the trading company policies  referred to as ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) and cost a little more than FCFA 100 Million. So, has Ange-Fabien GUEI promised to support the cooperatives in order to ensure a better living for the farmers.

It is convenient to recall that Africa Sourcing was founded on the 19th of August 2014 and takes its rootsfrom the former Armajaro trading firm.
